Duration: The position is part-time, totaling 70 hours. The employment is a one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension and potential transition to a permanent position. A six-month probationary period applies.

Start date: 2026-04-01 or by agreement.

Salary: According to collective agreement.

As a security guard, you play a crucial role in creating safety and security – both for our customers and for society at large. The trust we gain is built on your commitment and presence during each shift. Through your work, you contribute to preventing crime, enhancing fire safety, and much more. You meet people from all parts of society, which is why it is important that you are clear, calm, and capable of making well-informed decisions.

Common tasks as a security guard

As a patrolling security guard, you work to prevent risks and enhance security for our customers. You drive within your assigned area and perform checks such as ensuring alarms are activated, doors and windows are closed and locked, electrical equipment is turned off, and that no unauthorized persons are present on site.

Alarm responses are an important part of the job, where you quickly and professionally handle various types of incidents. Supervision occurs both indoors and outdoors, mostly at night, and you work independently in shifts.

In stationary guarding, you are placed at the customer's site, and the tasks may vary – from reception work and patrolling to staffing security centers. Your presence and service ability are crucial for creating safety and a good reception.

Qualifications

In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you need to meet basic requirements to qualify for the position:

• at least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• high school diploma
• good Swedish in speech and writing
• good English in speech
• driver's license B

You also need to be unpunished*, drug-free, have an orderly economy, and good health and fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.

Security guard training is advantageous for these positions. Other advantageous qualifications include experience in the security industry, some technical knowledge, additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, and previous experience working in public environments.

If you have the right profile for Avarn and you proceed in the process but do not already possess the required training (VU1, VU2), we will cover your training! Security guard training (VU1, 9 days) is conducted at BYA, the Security Industry's Occupational and Work Environment Committee. Participation in this is a prerequisite for employment.
